Scientists explain the psychological effects of marijuana to be "euphoric". From my understanding the feeling of "euphoia" means to experience a calming sense of personal well being. In other words, you may be more inclined to relax, and feel at ease with yourself and your surroundings.

Generally when using marijuana reality may seem like it has slowed down. If your mind was in a million places before you smoked a bowl, after you should feel more able to think about your thoughts one at a time.

In some cases it may give you the courage to speak out for something valliant in a situation where you might not have before, or to just try something new.
